A cloud hung over the company as day after day, returned fractured panel TVs that were unrepairable were stacked on pallets…beaten, broken and abused; and destined for eventual disposal.
Then one day, like a proverbial lightning bolt from the sky, a broken unit was plugged in and displayed a tiny area with the most amazing aura of color, shape, form and function. Berry quickly realized the potential beauty beholden by the irreversibly damaged inventory; TVs of all sizes now possessed a second life - a unique and incredibly artful purpose, which, when carefully crafted by the creator’s skillful hands, have the ability to render an incredible matrix of colors, patterns and dimensional depth that beckons viewers to travel through a portal to outer space, and experience an adventure of unlimited discovery.

The Art Form and What makes it Special
Within each LED TV panel resides billions of light-emitting diodes, miniscule electronic modules that release photons of light in organized patterns, translating inputted video signals to produce amazing life-like televised images. Each screen has its own characteristics, or as John Berry - The Cosmic Artist suggests, “each display has its own personality. My role is to connect with the panel’s inner spirit - to persuade the technology to rise above its intended purpose of simply rendering an input signal as a preordained set of images and coax the collective elements to find a higher plane of existence.”
The end result is nothing short of extraordinary; a complex and dynamic array of multi-faceted segmented lines, coupled with a vast array of random colors and pulsating patterns that at times have a mind of their own, evolving and exploring within the confines of the LED panel – yet always in touch with the creator’s intended vision.
